She is alive. And it’s strong. Very strong.
I had seen her for the last time two months earlier. Sofia, now an eighteen-year-old girl, worked as an assistant in a community clinic. Teresa had died the previous year and, before she died, she confessed everything. She told Sofia that she was not her biological daughter, that she had found her on the beach in Puerto Vallarta and that she had been afraid.
