I am a punk rocker. Loud music, ripped jeans, and a restless heart once shaped my world.
And I married a woman with Down syndrome, even as doubts came from every direction.
When I was younger, my friends and I played music anywhere we could.
Garages. School halls. Small town stages.
Music was everything to me.
Then I met Sarah.
She stood in the front row at every show.
She knew my songs by heart.
She cheered louder than anyone else.
And she truly saw me, not the noise or the image, but the man underneath it all.
When we said we wanted to get married, people warned us.
They said life would be too hard.
That love like ours would not survive the real world.
But God had a different plan.
We got married anyway.
Sarah brings peace, gentleness, and joy into our home.
I take care of the things she does not enjoy doing.
We serve one another in quiet, faithful ways every single day.
Years later, we are still here.
Not perfect. Not easy.
But grounded in love, strengthened by grace, and walking side by side just as God intended.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
1 Peter 4:8
