ANormal Evening Turns Unusual
It started like any other evening. After a long, exhausting day, I did what many people do—I ordered a pizza. There’s something comforting about that simple act. You scroll through a menu, pick your favorite toppings, and wait for that familiar knock on the door. It’s predictable, easy, and usually satisfying.
That night felt no different.
The delivery driver arrived right on time. I greeted him, paid, and took the warm box into my kitchen. The smell was exactly what I expected—freshly baked dough, melted cheese, and a hint of seasoning. Everything seemed perfectly normal.
But the moment I opened the box, everything changed.
What I saw inside wasn’t something I could immediately recognize. It didn’t match what I ordered, and more importantly, it didn’t resemble anything I had ever seen on a pizza before.
I sat there, staring at it.
And even now, I still don’t fully understand what it was.
The Moment of Confusion
At first, I thought it was a mistake. Maybe the restaurant had mixed up my order. That happens sometimes, right? But the longer I looked at it, the stranger it seemed.
The pizza itself looked mostly normal—crust, sauce, cheese. But right in the center, there was something… unusual.
It wasn’t clearly a topping.
It wasn’t clearly a foreign object either.
It had a shape that didn’t quite make sense. It looked organic, but also oddly artificial. The texture was unfamiliar—somewhere between soft and firm—and its color didn’t match any typical ingredient.
I remember leaning closer, trying to make sense of it.
Was it food?
Was it something that accidentally fell onto the pizza?
Or was it intentionally placed there?
Trying to Rationalize It
My mind immediately went into problem-solving mode. I started listing possibilities:
A strange topping? Maybe something exotic or uncommon?
A kitchen mistake? Perhaps an ingredient meant for another dish?
A contamination? Something that shouldn’t be there at all?
I even considered whether it could be a part of the pizza that had just cooked in a strange way. Sometimes cheese bubbles up oddly, or toppings shift during baking.
But this felt different.
It wasn’t melted cheese.
It wasn’t a vegetable.
It didn’t look like meat.
And it definitely didn’t look like anything I had ordered.
The Feeling That Something Was Off
As I kept staring, a strange feeling settled in.
