Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the sour cream, and mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped nuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, oats, softened butter, and cinnamon for the topping. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter in the loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Allow the Apple Pie Bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
